Modern Charcoal Slate Fireplace Tile

Material & Feature Breakdown

The featured fireplace in this living and dining zone is adorned with small-format rectangular slate tiles in a sophisticated charcoal and gray palette. The stacked arrangement is achieved using irregular, tumbled edges that emphasize the natural texture of slate. The finish is textured, enhancing the dimensional, stone-like appearance. Grout lines are kept minimal and color-matched in gray for cohesive integration, allowing the organic form of the stone to stand out as a true modern accent wall.

This design, part of the Piedmont, CA project by AND Interior Design Studio in Berkeley, CA, showcases a seamless blend of modern and transitional elements. The stacked slate's rich texture and natural hues provide a striking focal point, effortlessly anchoring the open living and dining area. The sophisticated stonework creates a sense of warmth and refined character, making it ideal for homeowners seeking a contemporary, nature-inspired ambiance in their gathering spaces. The tactile quality of the slate tiles not only adds visual intrigue but also elevates the overall luxury of the room, complementing a range of decor styles.
