About This Project
Material & Feature Breakdown
This bathroom features a dynamic combination of materials: terrazzo tiles in a mixed color palette are used for the floor, shower floor, and bathtub surround, all in a large format (24x24) with a matte finish and straight edges. The walls and shower walls are covered in matte white ceramic rectangular tiles (approx. 3x12), set in a stacked pattern with matching thin white grout. The terrazzo tiles feature a slightly textured finish, giving a distinctive terrazzo look, while the ceramics offer a smooth, solid appearance. Grout contrast is subtle, with thin gray lines complementing the terrazzo and crisp white joins for the ceramic surfaces.
The Highlands Eichler project by Cathie Hong Interiors in San Jose, CA, brings midcentury and modern influences together for a serene yet vibrant bathroom retreat. The clean lines, harmonious terrazzo, and fresh white ceramics seamlessly unite vintage appeal with contemporary refinement. The space feels bright and inviting, with expertly curated materials and finishes underscoring a spa-like ambiance that perfectly suits both daily routines and relaxation.
