Mediterranean Blue Kitchen Wall Tile

Material & Feature Breakdown

The kitchen backsplash features ceramic and terracotta tiles in a striking rectangular small format (approx. 3x12). The primary field tile is a hand-glazed deep blue ceramic in a glossy finish, arranged in a horizontal stacked pattern. Contrasting vertical stripes of glossy terracotta tiles inject a bold accent, both types laid with thin, white contrasting grout lines. The edges are straight, and the surface displays the subtle, varied texture and color movement characteristic of Zellige-inspired tiles.

This tile installation in the Mediterranean Zellige & Terracotta project by Bluestem Remodeling in St. Louis Park, MN, offers a blend of vibrant color and artisan craftsmanship to the kitchen space. The Mediterranean and modern design sensibilities are evident in the interplay of saturated blue and earthy terracotta, paired with sleek cabinetry and warm wood accents. The result is a luminous, resilient kitchen wall surface that stands out as a visual centerpiece, bringing both tradition and lively energy to the home.
