About This Project
Material & Feature Breakdown
The bathroom features matte black porcelain hexagon tiles on both the main floor and the shower floor, each tile approximately 8x8 inches, with clean, rectified edges for a sharp, contemporary look. The walls and shower walls are clad in glossy white ceramic tiles in a vertically stacked 3x12 rectangle format, set with straight edges. All tiles are set with thin, gray contrasting grout that accentuates the geometry while keeping the transitions crisp and precise across the space.
Proudly part of the Modern Twist on a Traditional Home project by Convene Architecture in Alexandria, VA, this space embodies a modern yet timeless balance. The striking mix of graphic black hexagon floors with clean, vertically stacked white wall tiles brings a sophisticated, transitional ambiance. The overall palette amplifies natural light from the skylight, while the streamlined fixtures and wood cabinetry add warmth and dimension to the otherwise monochromatic scheme, reflecting thoughtful design tailored for modern living.
