About This Project
Material & Feature Breakdown
The bathroom features a combination of classic surfaces, with matte porcelain hexagon tiles in a cheerful yellow with small white accents on the main floor and shower floor. The wall and shower wall are finished in glossy white ceramic subway tiles set in a stacked pattern, producing a clean and timeless look. Both hexagon and subway tiles utilize straight edges; the hex tiles are mosaic-sized (approximately 1x1 inch), while the wall subway tiles are traditional rectangles (about 3x6 inches). Grout is thin and white on the floor for contrast, and medium-width gray for subtle distinction on the wall surfaces.
Inspired by the elegance of the Columbia Victorian project by Bellingham Bay Builders in Bellingham, WA, this bathroom artfully revives vintage charm with modern practicality. The signature yellow hexagon mosaic floor tiles brighten the room, complemented by crisp white subway wall tiles to balance both whimsy and sophistication. This design celebrates traditional sensibilities while delivering enduring beauty and remarkable functionality suitable for historic homes and fresh renovations alike.
