Modern White Subway Bathroom Wall Tile

Material & Feature Breakdown

The bathroom features two visually distinct tile treatments. On the walls, classic ceramic subway tiles in a glossy white finish are arranged in a running bond pattern, sized at approximately 3x6 inches with straight edges and thin contrasting gray grout for crisp outline definition. The floor is surfaced in large format 12x12 inch square porcelain tiles in a deep charcoal tone, finished in matte with straight edges and smooth texture that brings a contemporary, solid look to the space. Both surfaces utilize clean, minimal grout widths in a matching gray shade for cohesion and visual impact.

This modern yet farmhouse-inspired bathroom in the White Plains House project by Andrew Mikhael Architect on Fox Island, WA, achieves a fresh balance between timeless ceramic detail and sleek, contemporary porcelain flooring. The glossy white subway walls act as a neutral canvas, amplifying light and creating an airy, open feel, while the charcoal floor tiles ground the space with confident contrast and durable luxury. Together, the interplay of color, finish, and classic style delivers a rejuvenated, upscale bath environment that is both welcoming and highly functional for everyday use.
